Child abuse figures in 2008

Police recorded 50 child sex offenses in England and Wales every day last year, meaning children were victims of sex crimes on more than 20,000 occasions, according to research by a charity.

Figures showed that in nearly one in four cases victims were under 10 and more than 800 incidents involved children aged four and under.

What in gods name is going on in this country, the number of cases reported are according to a national charity only about 1 in 20 cases being perpetrated in the country, which means we have over 400 thousand new cases a year and rising. Children need protection now, not in years to come, yet the new government have said nothing about improving protection for children, or about increasing sentences for child abusers and paedophiles in the UK.

I am writing to ask the prime minister for a meeting to discuss the disgraceful situation we have and ask what he will do about it, i trust he does not try to give me a line of BS, as i will make it clear what i think when i speak to him, if he agrees to meet. We all have a part to play in keeping our children safe, so i am putting up a petition for people to sign and i will take it with me if the PM agrees to meet me so he can see the depth of feeling in the country on this subject.

I hope everyone who see the petition will sign it and let others know so that they can also sign it.
